MAGIC 🥹 This wonderful patient has struggled with alopecia areata (AA) for 10+ years and had not had hair on her scalp for at least 3 years. She read a study I published a few years back on the treatment of AA with a newer medication known as a JAK inhibitor. So she traveled a long way to see me, and said, “I’m willing to try whatever we can. Even if you can just give me eyelashes and eyebrows, that would be enough for me.” We trialed her on a brand new JAK inhibitor that had not been used for AA, knowing there was a chance it might not work, and 4 months later, voila!! We delivered more than eyelashes gurl! Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room between us 🥹🥹🥹 Thank you to this wonderful patient for trusting me and for allowing me to share her journey.
