This interaction between @cbsmornings co-host @gayleking and comedian @robdelaney perfectly exemplifies why witnessing someone’s grief can be so impactful. In his new book, “A Heart That Works,” Rob speaks openly about losing his toddler Henry to a brain tumor. He shares how isolated his family felt in their grief, saying, “Many people are afraid of you when your child is dying.” We often worry that if we bring up a sensitive subject that we’ll remind that person of their pain. But when we avoid these topics, we risk making the people in our lives who are struggling feel under-supported and even invisible. As Rob mentions, one small way you can acknowledge someone’s grief is by just saying the name of the person they’ve lost. Thank you, Rob, for explaining why kicking the elephant out of the room is so important and Gayle for modeling it 💙 〰️ Video via @cbsmornings 〰️ #gayleking #robdelaney #griefsupport #supportothers #supportingothers #griefandloss #childloss #childlosssupport #childlosssurvivor #lossofachild
