Crazy because that seems like both a long and short amount of time lol Over the last 5 years I realize how much I’ve learned—not just about my husband, but about myself. One thing that stands out is the importance of intentionality. We often hear that marriage is hard work, but what does that really mean? For me, it means being purposeful in how we communicate, love, and support each other, even when life gets hectic. Whether we’re celebrating wins or navigating challenging moments, the effort we both put in isn’t just maintenance—it’s about creating a partnership that grows with time. In marriage both ppl have to be open to change—within yourself and your partner. We are not static beings. Over the years, we’ve both evolved, and being able to adapt to those changes has kept our relationship strong. There were times when we had to sit with uncomfortable truths about our own habits, perceptions, or past hurts that influenced how we approached each other. Working through those moments made us stronger individually and as a couple. Trust that it’s okay to have seasons of imbalance. Some days, one of us has more energy or capacity than the other, and that’s okay. We’ve learned to recognize when one of us needs to lean on the other more heavily and trust that the balance will return over time. I love you & love doing life with you @toluvstj 🫶🏾 thanks for being my person
