The history of Hip Hop and Street Styles is fascinating. We may all be eager to “succeed” in through this art form but we must remain conscious that these styles do have TECHNIQUE and FOUNDATION to them and they were born through a CULTURE. These are more than just moves. It is all of our responsibility to honor and respect the foundation and the stories that come with these styles. In order to move dance into the future we have to have an understanding of the past. We all have heard this before but I encourage you to choose a style and really do a deep dive into its origins.
