We adored Jak Knight. He was as much a Dynasty regular as one could be. We will miss him. Sending love to all his friends and family.

From @flammydavisjr : This dude was special. Jak Knight really was a rare overnight success story. He was not even 21 when I started booking The Improv, but he already had a very rare, instant undeniability and fearlessness, on and off stage. He had IT and he knew it. Within months of seeing him on our open mics I was booking him on big shows, and watching opportunities open up for him left and right. His rise was meteoric, and exciting to watch in real time. When we opened Dynasty Typewriter he was an immediate fixture. I think he may have done more sets on our stage in our first 4 years than anyone else. At the very least, he could claim to have said the phrase "theeeese [white] motherfuckers" (in reference to @vanessahope and myself after bringing him to the stage) more than any other comic by a long shot. His last set at Dynasty was less than a month ago and I'll never forget it because a) he killed, of course, and b) my 13 year old nephew was in the audience and was exposed to... new ideas and... new ways of expressing ideas. Jak's legacy for Dynasty is huge. He forever cemented us in the national psyche when in 2019 he wrote an episode of Blackish with a storyline featuring a comedy club named.... Dynasty Typewriter. It made no sense hearing the characters on a network show utter the words “Dynasty Typewriter” then, and it makes no sense now. Kinda like Jak's unexpected passing. It's devastating and surreal. He accomplished a lot in his short time and would have accomplished a lot more. We’re so sad that we won't get to hear his loud laugh echoing from the green room onto the stage while someone else is performing again. RIP Jak
