3 years later and now we’re here. 💜 I finally cried last night. I scheduled a crying session because this is a big deal. Not only for my parents & family but most importantly for me. Most of my life I’ve been struggling to find my way back to myself. To the fearless little girl I was before things got scary and sad at home. It took LOTS of therapy and being a therapist to find myself again. My true calling and passion is to help others find their way back to themselves. I took time to hug and console myself. Telling my inner child that at the end it was all okay. That I am safe and I am happy. I am here because I am a descendant of warriors. I am a descendant of healers. The real work is only beginning. I will give back to my community — the one that has advocated and supported me along the way. I love being a therapist. As a #FirstGeneration Xicana, I acknowledge the sacrifices my grandparents and parents had to make for a better and safer life.
