Got my first tattoo today! Actually, got four of these teeny tiny dots to help guide the beams of radiation that I’ll be getting when my treatments start in about 10 days time... To prep, I had to have a CT scan at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre today as well. And I was instructed how to properly hold my breath with a snorkel gizmo. That was a bit disconcerting, because I’ve always hated holding my breath (I think that’s because I’ve had a fear of suffocation since I was a little kid, hearing the stories about my mom’s family having all suffocated in the war...) At any rate, I didn’t like going thru the paces of holding my breath—but I might have to when I get my radiation because it’s my left breast they’ll be radiating and they have to be careful not to damage my heart. Still not 100% I’ll have to use this breath-holding technique, but will know more when my doctor goes over the CT scan results. Whatever way it goes, I’m just crazy grateful to be taken such good care of, and thank God we’ve come this far in our treatments for breast cancer. 🙏🏻💖 #tinytattoos #hangingtough #radiation #cancerjourney #ivegotthis
