Not drag and not sorry. I’ve been posting about Palestine on my stories but realized I never did on my main feed - I’m not afraid of losing fans or limiting opportunities because I don’t want to be supported or work with any one person or company that advocates for or supports the genocide happening in Palestine. If you want to go, go!! I don’t care to hear about how you’re disappointed in me or try to argue with you about this clear ethnic cleansing. We bear witness to unimaginable horrors in Palestine everyday. We cannot become desensitized to this!! We can’t just shrug because it isn’t happening in our backyard - our tax dollars are paying for it. We have countless American Jewish people advocating for ceasefire - holocaust survivors included who know the horrors and inhumanity firsthand. We have governments, both Israeli and American that are equating being against the genocide of the Palestinian people with antisemitism - this is only going to hurt Jewish people in time and is extremely dangerous. All of our lives we learned about what happened during the holocaust, we were told about the atrocities and how we must learn from it so it can never happen again. Yet here it is - the time has come and it is happening before our very eyes and it feels like the world powers are doing nothing about it. What is it that we need them for if not to prevent these inhumane tragedies from happening? I worry and I fear for the world that will be if we allow Israel to erase Palestine and its people from history. I don’t have solutions - but please share them in the comments if you have ideas on how to take action. We are grateful to all those who take action in the moment and lead the rest of us who may be paralyzed with shock, grief, and confusion.
