I’ve asked TfL to give free travel to 5,000 of their lowest paid workers. Cleaners, catering and security staff do so much for our city and their work is essential to keeping our public transport safe and operating. I’m taking this unprecedented step because it’s unacceptable that those on the lowest incomes are being hit hardest by the spiralling cost of living. Taking away the cost of travel will go a long way, easing the pressure on thousands of our hardest working Londoners.
