👇🏽RECIPE👇🏽 As requested by many of you, here is my BISTEK TAGALOG (Filipino Beef Steak) recipe. Thanks for all your patience. 🙏❤️🇵🇭 NOTE: - I used Beef Bottom Round Steak but you can use Sirloin too. - Traditionally, Calamansi or Philippine Lemon is used in this recipe but you can use lemon or lime too. - My mom sometimes use red onions instead of yellow onion. - If you want a more soupy Bistek, add more soy sauce and water. -I didn't add salt. The light sauce was salty enough. -I didn't sauté the onions because I wanted it to have a bit of bite to it. INGREDIENTS: ❤️ 1.5 lbs of Beef Bottom Round Steak or Sirloin thinly sliced ❤️ 1/2 cup light soy sauce ❤️ 6 garlic cloves minced ❤️ juice of 2 medium sized lemons (or 6 calamansi) ❤️ 1/2 cup water ❤️ 1/4 tsp black pepper ❤️ 2 tbsp Olive oil or Canola oil ❤️ 1 small yellow onion sliced into thick rings PROCEDURE: 1. In a container, add slices of beef, light soy sauce, juice of 2 lemons, garlic and black pepper. Mix and massage the meat. Cover and let it marinate in the fridge for atleast 1 hour. 2. Preheat a wide saute' pan over medium-high heat. Add Olive oil, add beef and pan fry for 3-4 minutes. Add remaining liquid marinade and water. 3. Cover and turn heat down to low and let the beef cook for 30-40 minutes or until meat is tender. 4. Add the onion rings, cover and turn off heat and let the onions soften from the steam for 5 minutes. 5. Serve over steamed white rice and enjoy! #bistek #bistektagalog #filipinofood #dinnerideas #ulamideas #dinner #onthetable #truecooks #pinoyfood #foodiesph #filipinoamerican #pinoyabroad #homecooking #foodbeast
