Introducing Herbes de Provence ... de Provence! Our third and newest Origin Blend, Herbes de Provence, is finally here! A traditional mix of rosemary, summer savory, French thyme and oregano come together in this iconic blend of hardy, aromatic herbs that’s a cornerstone of French cooking. Our Herbes de Provence is a perfectly balanced, traditional mélange that’s made for tomato sauces, roasted chicken or mushrooms, rich pan sauces and any other dish that needs a boost of savory, fragrant aromatics. Unlike every other version of this blend in the US, our Herbes de Provence is actually grown in Provence and blended by the cooperative of farmers themselves. What about lavender? Doesn’t that grow in Provence? Yes, it does, but our partner farmers let us know in no uncertain terms that lavender has no place in their traditional recipe for the blend. They guessed that lavender was added by spice importers in the US trying to overcompensate for the lack of real Provençal herbs. Herbes de Provence is the perfect blend to carry us through the end of summer and into autumn, and we can’t wait to see the splash it makes in your kitchen.
