We’re delighted to share an exclusive Q&A with Benjamin. • What book is currently in your bag? Currently in my bag is the Arc of a Scythe series by @nealshusterman, which was recommended to me by @faridahlikestea. I’ve already fallen in love with the first one and can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series. Also, since I’m a Princess Diana stan, I have The Lady Di Look Book: What Diana Was Trying To Tell Us Through Her Clothes in my bag too. • Do you have a favourite bookshop? @gaysthewordbookshop in London is definitely one of my favourites. It’s small but mighty, which makes it a more personable experience when you pop in for a new book. The booksellers are all really friendly and can’t wait to match you up with your next favourite read. • What’s been your favourite book recommended by a bookseller? A few years ago, a bookseller saw me holding They Both Die at the End and couldn’t have recommended it more. I was so intrigued by the title that I had to take it home and I absolutely loved it. • Who would you love to give a National Book Token to and why? I mean, if I could, I’d give a National Book Token to every child and teen who needs one. So much can be learned and explored through reading and I think it can help to promote both empathy and kindness. • What book will you be nominating for the Books Are My Bag Readers’ Choice Award? Gay Club! by @simonjamesgreen definitely has my vote. Simon is such an incredible talent and I absolutely fell in love with the story and characters.
