This was a heart race. Saturday morning, we were asked to visualize crossing the finish line while holding hands with someone. I pictured my younger self, the kiddo who survived through so much pain and trauma but STILL chose to lace up their shoes and hit the pavement. I ran these 13 miles smiling, saying hi to the cheer zones, and dancing with the other kiddos watching us, knowing that baby Des was with me the whole time. Thank you to @hecisdead for bringing us out and taking care of us uptown girlies! This weekend, I got to fulfill my dream of running with @nikenyc. I got to hang with my personal legend and icon @sof_camacho, who WON the race. I got to love on my sis @abvethe.ankle.
