Met Gala 2022 - In America: An Anthology of Fashion (gilded glamour) "In America: An Anthology of Fashion, is built around the tenets of American style, and celebrates unsung heroes of US design." The main intention of this year's exhibition is to spotlight the talents and contributions of individuals that have been forgotten, overlooked or relegated into the footnotes of fashion history, despite their contribution to the evolution of America style. Historically, Queer art created in the underground club scene of New York has served as the inspiration for designers around the world. Such influence is often overlooked, despite the success of the work that it inspires. I wanted to highlight what I believe to be the glided era of queer aesthetic by paying tribute to the 90s New York club scene, largely spear headed by the legendary Susanne Bartsch. My inspiration came from Susanne Bartsch at the 2nd Love Ball in 1991, an event organised by Bartsch to raise money and awareness for people suffering with AIDS. . . .
