Getting FOMO yet? We’ve got you covered. Continue reading for the inside scoop on Day 4 of #NYFW. ⏪📸 SS23 was in full bloom at the Brooklyn Museum’s Beaux-Arts Court thanks to Ulla Johnson and her bohemian-chic flair. Models were adorned by ruffles and blooming colors, accented by soft and natural glam. The colors and cuts were uniquely sourced from designers in Central America and Asia, with Johnson stating excitement over "working with the communities that we were having a difficult time accessing over the past few years,” due to the pandemic. Over at Spring Studios, Ashya dedicated an entire showroom to this season’s presentation of “Origins, celebration of lineage and community”. The SS23 collection spotlights Drop III of the brand’s Heritage Collection. Recording artist Moses Sumney performed a ritualistic, rhythmic routine derived from folklore with emphasis on exploration of heritage that has inspired the brand. Who Decides War’s SS23 Collection was the brand’s most decadent to date. The collection amplified both island-vibes and streetwear. “The whole thing was based on our roots from the Caribbean,” Says co-designer, Everard Best. “The unofficial title of the collection is Underwater, and it has a lot to do with climate change... A lot of these islands are under risk of being wiped out.” The show closed with an ode to strong women, the starring piece being a reimagining of Serena Williams’ denim skirt from 2004 for the brand Nike.
