Doro Bet is a must try restaurant in the heart of West Philly! 🇪🇹🍗🍽️ It was so nice and nostalgic to go back to my old stomping grounds near the university I graduated from. Had this been open back then, I definitely would have been dining here weekly! The fried chicken was so hot, juicy, and fresh. Would definitely recommend 😍 To add, they also coat their chicken in teff flour, which is the same ingredient used to make their injera. I love that the chef took a leap of faith to innovate a new dish that still stays rooted in her culture! The sauces are all made in house and included the hot honey (buffalo sauce & honey), mimita (Ethiopian chilis and other spices), senafich (mustard & our fav), and the garlic aioli 🧄 The collard greens were cooked to perfection with those staple Ethiopian spices incorporated. Also, the broth that pools at the bottom of the Doro bits bowl is essentially liquid gold, it was incredible! Must try 🙏🏼 For drinks, we loved the fermented honey and hibiscus teas. The fermented honey tea has a flavor profile similar to kombucha, but not as sour and more sweet. The hibiscus tea was made with mint leaves, cardamom syrup, and lemon juice. Both were so refreshing and paired well with the meal. Lastly, the tres leches was a 10/10, we loved it! The cardamom syrup adds a new twist on the original dish and makes it so unique. Hope you guys get to check it out and support your small businesses! 🙏🏼💐🫶🏼 #RestaurantReview #localfood #foodreview #SmallBusiness #localfood #musttryfood #restaurantsnearme #gourmetfood #Foodie #phillyfood #foodtasting #creatorsearchinsights #foodrecomendation @Doro Bet ዶሮ ቤት
