give & watch. bring out the cardboard boxes & watch them make houses. give them a story & watch their imaginations take it and run. give them a bike & watch them learn how to ride it. give them rest time & watch how they learn about silence + books. parenting feels so much of giving my best efforts & watching sweet fruit. sometimes it doesn’t— sometimes you’re storing fruit for the years that feel like a famine. but right now as my kids are 5,3 & 1 and everything’s a new discovery: giving + watching seem like the most natural postures to be in.
