We couldn’t resist a visit to Nusr-et while in Istanbul. The social media meme has become a controversial figure in recent years, especially since the opening of his London restaurant where prices are extortionate. ⠀ The restaurants in Turkey aren’t cheap compared to the local food, but very reasonable from a Londoner perspective. About £70 for 2, whereas the same meal in London would’ve been around the £500 mark. ⠀ The food was good, a tasty steak and sides were sufficient. The onion flower was still raw in the middle and the baklava was nice - but the overdramatic preparation was rather bizarre. Never before has a baklava been so violently destroyed!
