Our last session at the NOW Academy was both deep and meaningful. As usual with our “Mentee Summit” session, mentees get to choose from a variety of topics in various categories to speak about. The rules are simple – mentors must simply listen. Too often youth are either told what to think, or their thoughts and feelings are dismissed due to their age. This session proves that to be a huge mistake... And though this session is always enlightening and thought-provoking, this particular group of mentees took things to a very deep and personal level. We are so grateful for their trust in us, and in their understanding that their voices matter. Thank you as always to this community, and this time, especially to the mentors for keeping their mouths shut!
