I would keep my ting brief, but unfortunately I am long winded and extremely humbled and grateful so I must thank every single person involved in making my first @makeitadoubletennis event a success 🗣️WE SOLD OUT Y’ALLL🗣️ This event was truly a labor of love and something I’ve been wanting to put together for a while! I started playing tennis about 4 years ago when I lived in Mississippi — it’s a sport that fostered a sense of community for me & I was lucky enough to be able to learn in a space that felt inclusive, which isn’t always the case in a sport like tennis (shoutout to my Jackson fammmm 🫶🏽). I moved to Philly last year knowing I would have to rebuild my tennis community (find a team to join, new hitting partners, a tennis center to do drills at…), but I realized it would be easier to build the community I wanted and help other people do the same if I did the work to bring people together. And that’s where the idea for this initially came about! I met @primotennis at @legacyyte when I first moved, and he encouraged me to pursue the idea! Huge shoutout to Laurence for believing in me & coordinating the drills for the event. Thank you to my team at @cfgtalent for always supporting me in every creative pursuit and endeavor (specifically @ciaorachella & @amor.muse) 🥹 thank you for every email sent, contract put together, schedule coordinated, and literally flying across the country to help execute my vision. Thank you to all my friends who helped promote the event especially my sisters Omolade & @la__malienne — y’all were in every mf group chat fr and I love y’all dowwwn!! Thank you to my giiiirl @k.eymn for shooting the promo shots & @sika__ag for hopping in the shots with me 🤭 Thank you to @killsing for PERFECTLY curating the vibe for the night, @nativepharaoh for capturing every moment, and @libertykitchenphl for catering!
