I could not be more proud of the team @hollywoodreporter The edit teams have been tirelessly working through this unbelievable crisis unearthing stories, celebrating the community and looking to the future. This last week has been a nightmare, to say it plainly. The terror, the loss, the death and heartbreak is something I couldn’t have predicted we would face in such a short amount of time. I want to thank the first responders and folks who have been keeping us as safe as possible- but also informed, like my dear colleagues at THR. Real news, real reporting, REAL stories are the bedrock of community- and I’m hoping that all of this “publishing is dying” talk can well, die out. I went to journalism school because I loved the news- hard or entertainment. I’ve stayed in this world because I loved it and because I believe in it with all my heart. I’m in awe of the community and support I’ve seen amongst Angelenos this week. We all came here (or stayed here) because we are dreamers, believers, creators, castaways, weirdos- and those are the ones I’d enlist in my tribe during the apocalypse- which is what we did.
