Those who know me know that I am full fledged dedicated Father. I take my parenting very important. From birth I have instilled independent thought into this beautiful human. We have learned love together, we have grown to become better humans and also created huge disagreements. But through it all the love and peace that resides between us is everlasting. I must admit, being a single father I was scared of prom. And in a lot of ways I was selfish too! I knew that prom was a marker that signified that my baby girl was no longer. It showed me that this woman is now here to stay. When I look into her eyes I see the strength and fortitude of me but shaped in a way that is sooo much better. The other day she came into my bedroom and said “Dad I am the better version of you” my competitive and selfish ass had to use humility and look at the truth as it stared back at me to admit. She is right, she is the better version of me... but I also told her to keep going because I am getting better too!
