🖤 Velvet UPDATE 🖤 First of I want to say “Thank You” for all the sweet messages and the concerns about Velvet’s health 🖤 It means the world! We can think we finally found out what caused all her medical problems..... Dr. Watts thinks Velvet has FIC (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis) ! First I thought, yeah right🙄 But after going through everything that happened the last 3 month I am convinced she is right I ran it through my head a million times! And since everyone always just treated the symptoms and never the cause we could not help her ! I hope this will help another kitty that might go through the same thing as Velvet to find a solution! Severe dehydration, bloody urine , not eating or drinking, extreme weakness .. you name it she had it ! All the tests in the book came back normal...The ER vet wanted to cut her open and explore 😱! When she finally got better we were so excited, yay! Different food , fluids the whole nine...and boom it happened again ! UTI symptoms from one minute to another...Dr. Watts decided to put her on 3 meds for the weekend.... To make her sleep and get her over the hump 1.Gabamentine, 2. Prazosin , 3. Buprenorophine for 3 days! If it’s medical it would not work ... if it’s mental (stress) it would ! She slept for 3 days ! Monday we stopped.... And she was like new! She played for the first time with her sister in 3 month ....All this was caused by stress! It happens to young adult cats ... with drama in the kitten hood! What stressed her you wonder ..... the wildlife ( see last two slides ) coming into my yard💔 even though she is indoors (she does have a secure catio) they came right up to the window! And it must have stressed her to the point she got sick ! 😭😭 Since she has only 3 legs she feels like she can’t defend herself ! She felt unsafe in her home ...it is breaking my heart ...... I had no idea a raccoon and a skunk can make her so sick 💔...... we blocked excess to the yard .... Everywhere! And I had them move a few houses down the street 🤣🤣 And Velvet is doing so much better ! I have everything at hand in case it happens again ... but this can be a lifelong condition.... And we just have to stay on top of it ! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Happy and Healthy 🖤
