• Around this time 4 years ago, (Aug 27th to be exact) I was brought into a small office on a late Thursday afternoon for a meeting, where I was informed that I was being terminated from my position at my corporate job. I didn’t think this at the moment, but that was the best thing to ever happen to my career. Every year around this time I always reflect on where I am at at the moment, and the decision I made years ago to say “F” it and pursue my dream as a Cinematographer/business owner after losing my job right after my 3rd child was born. I literally took a leap of faith, and it paid off because of 2 things I believe. 1: Trusting that if I put in the work God would provide. 2: The incredible support from my wife @sharynna_herrera If you’ve been following me for a while you know my story and I hope by me sharing my journey just a little bit, it has encouraged you in some way. Either way I will continue to find ways to share my experiences and hopefully encourage filmmakers/DPs like myself who was just starting out. Feeling gratitude for every friend I’ve made along the way (I’ve met some of my closest friends on set) and every relationship I’ve built w/ the people I’ve worked with/for.
