Destiny's happy belly rub sounds are all you need to hear today 😌 She has been through so much in her life, and seeing her this happy and relaxed is something we could only hope for not long ago. Destiny was born on a beef ranch, where she developed an infection that would ultimately save her life. Since she was meant for “food,” the vet didn’t want to give her antibiotics, so the rancher, wanting to help, massaged Destiny's leg every day and got her walking. Her mobility was still compromised, however, and it was getting worse as she grew. Through the healing process, the farmer became fond of Destiny and did not want to see her go to slaughter, so we were given the chance to rescue her. Given her background and the pain she was still feeling in her leg, it's no surprise that Destiny was distrustful of humans when we met her. For a long time after coming to The Gentle Barn Tennessee, she kept to herself and loved to say "no." But in recent years, the walls Destiny built to keep her safe have come tumbling down, and she's finally letting us in.
