This English-style home has evoked comparisons to the sets of Downton Abbey and Pride & Prejudice, and for good reason. The Memorial area home can rightly be called a manor, thanks to its sprawling 26,000-square-foot floor plan, an exterior covered in stone and climbing vines, and interior features like gilded coffered ceilings and silk wall coverings. And then there are the 2.8 acres of manicured gardens modeled after those found at the palace of Versailles.
The home has now sold for a reported $21 million, making it the most expensive single-family home sale in Houston history, and the first over $20 million.
