Studio details ⬇️ This is the spare room in our cabin we live in, on the Lofoten Islands of Northern Norway! The fireweed flowers grow absolutely everywhere here, these are from our yard. I’m a big fan of simple things that make a space beautiful, like artwork and candles and flowers. As you can see it has been rainy and moody here in the arctic! The desk is fully adjustable so you can tilt it + make it into a stranding desk too! This chair is one of my favorite colors and though it doesn’t roll well, I love the adjustable height. The round table (with the orb lamp on it) has a built in air filter which I’m obsessed with, since oil painting indoors is inherently hazardous. Also from ikea! I had similar carts to the white one here back in Montana, these are super affordable and great for storing paint + easy to roll outside on nice days. I am a huge fan of Windsor and newton oil paints, water colors, and gauche, + of golden acrylic paints. I always go for professional brushes, though the most expensive ones seem unnecessary to me. The palate I use really varies, but I always store it inside the sta-wet palates (I bought this one from Dick Blick). This little drawer on my desk is perfect for maximizing this small space and it’s also from ikea. I keep my journal prompts and astrology workbooks from @thecosmicrx in here, and store journals notebooks + planners in the space under it. The round cards are by Kim Krans, it’s her archetypes deck and I love using it to seeing what the universe wants me to learn/ focus on today. My Himalayan salt rock lamp and the wooden cart are from local shops in Norway, but you can find similar ones many places. My lamps are from ikea as well, as is the sand timer. Since I was buying furniture for my whole studio, ikea felt like a great option, and I’ve never had the opportunity to have their furniture before (growing up in fairly rural Montana). Oh, and the pink paintings are underpaintings- how I plan out the composition in acrylic before staring with oils on top! Did you enjoy this tour?!
