This is what I should have said if I actually had a speech prepared and didn’t nervously ramble in front of a mic lmao As a first generation Mexican-American/child of immigrant parents, I’m glad that this short was able to resonate with everyone the way it resonated to my family. Every short in the competition was deserving of its own award and I’m privileged to be allowed in the same group of young and extremely talented individuals. I cannot express the feeling I have knowing that so many people connected to this film regardless of their race, language, or nationality.
