Mushroom season is so very much upon us and the weather this week has been great for spurring on those that are ready to go. This glorious specimen is called ‘Chicken of the Woods’. 🐓 🌳 Apparently named so because it’s make up is supposed to resemble chicken when cooked. Freshly harvested, it has lovely fresh mushroomy aroma and is firm but spongy to hold.
