Take me back to last week when we woke up each day to misty mornings and the kookaburra sitting on the branch outside our tents before we all got up. To the morning, afternoon and night camp fires we all sat around connecting with each other, the fire and country. To the sound of the creek and to our next generation playing and learning about culture. To the freezing swims in the creek by those who dared and were brave enough to feel free. To the life changing workshops run by our brothers and sisters who had so much knowledge to share and who taught us to slow down and listen to country she always speaks to us. To learning to paint with ochre and the protocols behind seeking permission to from country, the elders and the ochre itself to use for painting. To the amazing meals we had breakfast, lunch and dinner always together and the dedication of the chefs who truly love to cook. To the time we had alone for reflection to connect with country and with ourselves time to heal time to learn time to change. Take me back to the slow life the community life to knowing that this is how it was and how it always should be. @the_returning_ culture camp
