Our hearts are with the victims, their families, chosen families, friends, and the entire queer and trans community of Colorado Springs. As we mark the Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor all our queer and trans ancestors who guide us through our work in resourcing liberation for our communities. Trans love is divine, liberating, and heals generations. Thank you for creating this art @cozcon and for cultivating it into the world, @fwdtogether and @micahbazant. There are infinite ways to support trans communities in honor of #TDOR, but one meaningful thing you can do is visit tdor.co and download posters to share in your communities, access other pieces of poetry and art by trans artists, sign up for a Trans Love Care Package (for BIPOC trans individuals and organizations), and more. In the words of @cozcon, “to make your love and the safe space you’ve forged visible is to hang another lantern lighting the path to trans liberation. let fam know they can breathe easy with you because their peace is your peace too.” Amidst violent attacks against queer and trans community members, we remind you all and ourselves that we each play an active role in our shared liberation. Creating a world where trans joy and love thrives is on all of us, and we are grateful to so many of our grantee partners and beyond for leading this work, and paving the way for us and others.
