Let's get bendy. @meliniseri is here to drop a warm-up and tips for Camel Pose, a heart-opening backbend commonly found in yoga practice. Save this to try it later:
Warming up for Camel:
1. Cobra Circles: Start in Cobra Pose and draw circles with your torso.
2. Half Frog variation: Reach back for your foot and take a quad stretch in your Cobra on both sides.
3. Hero Circles: Sit on your heels and give yourself a big hug, winding your torso in circles.
4. Dancing Camel: Place one hand behind you on the mat and press your hips forward while extending the other arm back. Switch sides, finding a flow.
Getting into Camel:
1. Option 1: From Dancing Camel, press your hips forward and place both hands on your heels. Open your heart to the sky.
2. Option 2: Start in a kneeling position and lift your chest up to the sky as you place your hands on your sacrum or your heels.
3. Bonus: Kick up the challenge by taking a quad stretch or a Mermaid bind from Camel Pose.
