I saw first hand what 9 states in our Nation are experiencing. I pushed through little sleep, aches, pains & no hot meals, to make sure others had a roof over their head & #food in their stomachs. It wasn’t easy but I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again. #love #care This year, 85% in the Feeding America network reported an increase in the demand for food assistance. That’s exactly what my siblings & I heard, every time we spoke with food bank volunteers. Less food coming in, less people volunteering & a rise in more people needing help. In the same token, I read about 86,710,117,524 pounds of food in the U.S. have already been wasted from what happens in the fields, transportation, supermarkets, restaurants & homes. Not only did I see the #struggle of many, I felt the pain of our #mother #earth . We drove over 1000 miles before we saw water in a riverbed. The #colorado river. Our extreme temperature are even melting many roads and causing fires. The worlds largest ice sheet faces a dreadful #future , for its fate rest in the hands of #humankind . Our earths #glacier ice is showing extreme vulnerability to climate change. If it all melts, scientist believe #sea levels will #rise by 52 meters. We must all take a moment and realize what is happening around us. We can’t wait until there is no more opportunity to #save #lives & save this earth. We must think about our future & the future of the ones that will come after us. ❤️🌍❤️ I made #promises I intend to keep. If you can go on a trip around the nation with the intentions of helping others, see parts of the United States you’ve never seen before, it will really #openyoureyes .
