I started to envision this work after the tragic death of George Floyd, it is representing the goddess Ma’at. Her role was in creation and continuously preventing the universe from returning to chaos, her primary role in ancient Egyptian religion dealt with the Weighing of the Heart that took place in the Duat (realm of the dead). Her feather (not included in my interpretation) was the measure that determined whether the souls of the departed would reach the paradise of the afterlife successfully. Ma’at was the goddess of truth, justice, balance, and most importantly - order. The printed trees, my protagonists in this series are giving form to life, another leading imagery are the hands exemplifying healing hands during my personal healing journey. Slides: 1-4.
