You’ve had your heart broken more times than a 14 year old should have, by boys and girls, friends and family alike. I also know you’re scared. You’re frantically looking for love wherever you can find it because everyone who says they love you hurts you time and time again. But what if I told you that in a few short years, it would all be over? What if I told you that you meet your soulmate, fall madly in love, and run away together and get married? And what if I told you that the greatest love you’ve ever known; a love that’s all consuming and life affirming, isn’t from your husband, but yourself? It won’t happen overnight, but there will come a day when you’re finally at peace. You’ll be confident enough to wear something other than jeans and a hoodie. You won’t be checking the faces of those passing by at the mall for judgmental stares. You’ll feel comfortable being naked around a guy who holds you while you have panic attacks, pushes you to be your best, and you have an ADORABLE dog with (seriously, you’re gonna die when you meet her, she’s so cute). Don’t get it twisted though, no man’s love is a substitute for the love you have for yourself. It’s gonna be a long road but I promise you, it’s worth it. Take care of yourself, kid.
