Poor baby Charlee is sick with a cold... So no pre-school for today! 😔 But did you know that most toddlers' mild fevers and colds go away on their own?🤔 Getting sick often builds up your baby's immune system, helping him/her fend off the next bug that comes his/her way. 🙌🏻 📣 Important: call your doctor if his/her cold symptoms seem more severe than usual and if you're at all concerned for any other reason. 🔸What are the symptoms of the common cold? - Runny nose, - Sneezing, - Throat tickle, - Dry cough, - Congestion or stuffiness, - Watery eyes, - Mild fever, especially in the evening, - Fatigue and crankiness, - Loss of appetite, - Slightly swollen glands. 👉🏻A toddler’s cold lasts between 7 and 10 days, but it may continue for up to 2 weeks and a cough, can hang on even longer. 🔸What can you give your baby for a cold? 🌟You can offer your little one comfort with ointment around his/her nose to prevent chapping. 🌟You can use a cold-mist humidifier to ease congestion and give your little one some warm water with lemon and honey to sore his/her throat and ease swelling in the upper respiratory tract. 🌟You can put saline nasal drops in your baby's nose (if he/she is older than 1 yo) to loosen clogged mucus. 📣 N.B. antibiotics will have no effect on the common cold. They are made to treat bacterial infections, and, most important, they can be harmful if overused, killing good bacteria in your baby’s system. 💫 In our blog, we've shared a free guide on how to deal with your baby's first cold! 🔗Link in bio to read and download it!🔗 #IM #intuitivemoms #babyscold
