I’m so angry not just for the women in my life, but for women in this country, everywhere. Why should a woman’s bodily autonomy be stripped from her? And mostly by MEN, who can participate in the making of a baby, but can’t carry one! People say “how’d we get here?” but we’ve been sliding down this slippery slope for years. Soon the Handmaiden’s Tale will be a factual text instead of a work of fiction. And it won’t stop there. If you can be told what you can and can’t do with your body, how far are we from being told who you can and can’t be with because of your gender or race? I’m genuinely interested in hearing how someone can support any of this. And for any one who stands behind religion to support any of these beliefs, stop using God to promote hate. What happened to love thy neighbor? I guess we’ll see.
