Weather & Services Advisory #08 – TC Cody
Tuesday 10th of January 2022 at 1.30pm
The South Sea Cruises Group which operates South Sea Cruises, South Sea Island, and South Sea Sailing continue to monitor all relevant weather forecasts and conditions in relation to Tropical Cyclone Cody. Whilst the system is now south of Fiji it is slow-moving and forecasts for the Mamanuca Islands over the next 24-36 hours continue to have consistent winds of 20+ knots with gusts as high as 35 knots. For our revised operations through to the end of the week please note as follows:
• Resort Connections services to and from resorts in the Mamanuca Islands successfully operated this morning and will continue to operate as scheduled from tomorrow, Wednesday 12th of January 2022.
• Private speed boat transfers will resume from tomorrow, Wednesday 12th of January 2022.
• South Sea Island Full & Half Day Cruises remain cancelled for tomorrow but will resume normal operations again from Thursday, 13th of January 2022.
• South Sea Sailing remains cancelled for tomorrow but now has an additional departure scheduled for Thursday, 13th of January 2022. South Sea Sailing will then operate as originally scheduled from Friday, 14th of January 2022 onwards.
We hope this additional departure scheduled for this coming Thursday provides an opportunity for customers who have had their sailing experience onboard SABRE cancelled this week to take up this opportunity whilst still in Fiji.
With the weather system now moving away from Fiji and conditions expected to gradually improve this will be our last weather & services advisory regarding Tropical Cyclone Cody. We thank you for your patience and understanding through the recent cancellations and disruptions.
