Probably my favorite captures of 2022 in my favorite place on Earth Bahia Brasil.. these were shot by the brilliant @patorammsy a few days before my birthday .. I remember I was in a state of inner turmoil , doubt , sadness this whole week .. but i had commited to doing this stream for launch of defected broadcasting house and if there’s anything I’ve learned in the past few decades of earth school it’s that music & dance is the best way I kno how to transmute emotions .. add putting my feet in the earth .. being immersed in paradise nature & close to the ocean as well as you know - serving looks .. with all those ingredients combined despite all those inner feelings.. I remember as I started my set feeling more powerful and beautiful then I’ve ever felt before .. there’s somethin about the beauty of resilience and overcoming that conquers all .. it’s not that usual pretty but there’s a resonance of power and pushing through. when I see these captures they remind me of my power and true beauty .. moving forward and showing up amidst life’s rollercoaster making beauty out of heartache bringing joy out of pain .. I’m grateful for these moments of joy and struggle all which push me forward on my path .. I’m grateful to all of you who give me life show me love and support me whether you’ve met me in real time or not .. I’m grateful I’m here in this moment..
