Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of moderating a panel with our longtime partners from Indigenous Peoples and the United Nations. We talked about belonging, allyship, and the important relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the environment. I’m grateful to @mukaro.borrero @hawkstorm.forreal @sara_yawanawa_bergin and @ninaktsz for such an inspiring conversation and to all my @esteelaudercompanies and @origins colleagues who joined the event to listen and learn. #repost @esteelaudercompanies We had the exciting opportunity to host our longtime partners from Indigenous Peoples and the United Nations for a dynamic and engaging panel conversation during ELC’s Inclusion Diversity & Equity Month. The panel was moderated by Amber Garrison (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma), Global Brand President, Origins and featured esteemed speakers including Roberto Múkaro Borrero, Guainia Taíno Peoples, Robert Hawk-Storm Yawanawa-Bergin, Schaghticoke First Nations, Sara (Nawashahu) Yawanawá Bergin, Shukuvena Village of the Yawanawà Nation of Brazil, and Nina Kantcheva Tushev, Senior Policy Adviser, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities at UNDP. The conversation focused on what belonging means in Indigenous communities, the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the environment, and closed with a powerful discussion on allyship. This is the first of many conversations in our continued approach to being a collaborative and respectful partner with Indigenous Peoples. Swipe to see photos from the panel conversation.
