It's an important documentary from @HigherGroundMedia that shares the story of the descendants of the Clotilda, the last known ship carrying enslaved people from Africa. Last fall, visual artist @admdav captured tintype photos of these descendants which includes @Questlove and members of the community during the premiere of the documentary in Mobile, Alabama. He recently took one of me, too. These photos were inspired by the images taken of one of the last Clotilda survivors, Cudjoe Lewis. Descendant uncovers a painful part of our history while allowing families of the survivors to reclaim part of their story. Let me know what you think.
