We have started a small school in the forest with four remarkable educators, a chicken coop, two lambs, one frog, a large tent, a small patch of forest and a lot of old fashioned chutzpah. Escola del Bosc, Cadaqués is an outdoor classroom where children learn personal, social and technical skills in a natural environment. The main objectives are to encourage curiosity, exploration with all the senses, spatial awareness, motor development, creativity, autonomy and ecological awareness. We seek a balance between life and learning, play and work, collaboration and solitude. We believe that nature fascinates and awakens sensations. It is dynamic and alive. There is always a sound, a smell or the early morning light that influences the subconscious. We move in these sensory fields and slowly our awareness of the natural world opens up.
