Honored to receive the Claude Pepper Award for Advancing Healthy Aging from @agingresearch last night! Our older Americans deserve to age with dignity, and I’m proud to work with partners like Alliance in Aging to advocate for issues like prescription drug pricing, home care, and Alzheimer’s research. I know firsthand what it’s like to balance a career and take care of a loved one with Alzheimer’s. I used my experience and the stories of so many others that I’ve spoken with to secure the support of more than 40 of my House colleagues to urge Medicare to provide access to FDA-approved Alzheimer’s drugs. We must continue to fund research for treatment and a cure from this disease, and make sure they are accessible to everyone. Thank you to all the advocates that continue to fight for parents, grandparents, great aunts and uncles, and every older American. Together, we can ensure our seniors can live long, dignified lives.
