A new batch of clay paddles have been made up today and are heading out the door. I really love making these tools. I’ve changed a few things since the very first batch I made however many months back— first, they’re a little heavier with a thicker paddle head and thinner handle. Second, they’re generally more angular, allowing for the sharper edges to refine pottery forms as needed. And third, I’ve gotten to a point in making (I’ve now made around 75) where there’s more obvious consistency from paddle to paddle. Very cool to think so many of you have these in your tool bins and are using them to make your work. And yet I still don’t have one for myself.
