It wasn’t just the responsibility to her as a father, but the pure joy that she brought to each day, even after the departure of her infant sister. I got an inexplicable jolt of that on the streets of Jaipur a few days after the ceremony where we spread Rishi’s ashes into the Ganges. We were walking through 100 degree heat and she was bouncing between my shoulders and our dear friend Tyson’s. We were on our way back to our hotel: the Pearl Palace. Seeing her across the world from her ‘home’ as happy as can be, it just lit me up. And a song came right through me. I demo’d it in the bathroom just minutes later, in what would be the first of three joyful demos that eventually became cemented as songs on this upcoming record.
