This has been a tough loss. It’s taken me a bit of time and a lot of processing to post this. @denisedowse has been family for literally half of my life. I met Denise 26 years ago when she directed a play my mother produced. She was amazing with the actors, which made sense when I later realized she was an actress herself. Denise became my acting coach for many years. I would rarely go to an audition without seeing her first. We both loved the theater so when my mother went on to produce my one man show, “Love & Other Social Issues,” we knew Denise was the natural choice to direct it. Some of you may recognize Denise as my mother from season 3 of @theresidentonfox. Bc we shared such a close personal relationship in real life, the AJ/Carol onscreen chemistry was a dynamic one. Years of our wanting to work together on camera had finally come true. However, we were both broken-hearted when we had to recast her role in Season 4 due to health issues. @summerselby took the torch and did a wonderful job seeing Carol to the finish. The whole time she showed respect and genuine concern for Denise’s well being. What twisted irony that AJ loses Carol and we lose Denise. Anyone who knows Denise and I knows we shared a special relationship. But then again, anyone who knew Denise shared a special relationship with her as well. We are all rocked by this tremendous loss. Please join us in keeping Denise’s sister, Tracey @dreamofthesoultd in your prayers as Denise was her last living relative. This is rough news for us all, but understandably so, the roughest for her.
