Please continue to push back against the narrative that monkeypox is an STI. It is not. It is so sad that we have newspapers and tv stations making this false connection. It is also sad that we have sitting members of congress making the connection between monkeypox and child sexual abuse. This is all so incredibly dangerous and will inevitably result in violence against LGBTQ people. We must push back against this narrative. We also must demand for a more robust public health response against monkeypox (see last slide). There are vaccines available, we just need to get them to the people.
