🇵🇹 BEST WAY TO GET TO GERÊS 🌿 📌 Save this post for your next trip! 😉 👉 By plane: the nearest airport is Porto Airport, which is 1h30 driving from Gerês ✈️ 👉 By train: the nearest train station is Braga Railway Station, which is 1h driving from Gerês 🚂 👉 By bus: there are 3 bus companies providing regular service to Gerês, but the schedules and attendance are not very satisfactory 🚌 👉 By car / motorcycle: cities like Porto and Braga are less than 1h30 driving from Gerês, Coimbra is 2h30 and Lisbon is more than 4h driving from there, and you can rent a car or a motorcycle in any of these cities (I think that in Porto you can find the cheapest deals, but the secret in on booking in advance!) 🏍 CONCLUSION 👇 Although you can get to Gerês by different transports, I personally wouldn’t choose any other than car, once it allows you to have a much better autonomy, and also because none of the other means of transport will take you to all those waterfalls and to the viewpoints in the middle of nowhere. Peneda-Gerês is a national park, so you won’t find highways there, but a lot of narrow and steep mountain roads (in good conditions, in general), full of curves and precipices, so if you’re not a wise driver, I wouldn’t recommend you to drive there. Those roads aren’t dangerous!, they’re just not for anyone, so please be self-aware! 🚘 📍 Brufe, Portugal 🇵🇹 💌 Follow @francisco.travels for more inspiration and travel tips! 🙌 #geres #gerês #geresnationalpark #parquenacional #bestway #besttravel #besttravelpics #besttraveldestinations #postoftheday #instatravel #travelgram #portugal #visitportugal
