World Food Day is a reminder that coming together with friends and family around a well-set table is a privilege that not everyone can enjoy, but is one that everyone should experience
Today, we are in gratitude for the blessings of living on this Island, where nature and its fresh produces are accessible.
Being mindful about our eating habit is not only contributing to our health but also to food sustainability.
Several steps that we've taken (and you can too) are:
1. Grow your own herbs. We put effort in planting our own herbs to use in the kitchen, to make sure that all of the ingredients in our dishes are fresh.
2. Buy local. We work with locally-sourced fruits and vegetables, from our farmer friends up in the hills of Bedugul. We also source our rice from Astungkara Way - a regenerative farm business that support local farmers in their transition to farming without chemical.
3. Another green initiative that we take part of is partnering with Forest Smoothie in planting and protecting trees all across the globe. By purchasing Forest Smoothie at Good Mantra, you are helping our cause!
4. Compost! We partner with Urban Compost Bali and get our organic waste picked up and turned into compost. Proper waste management starts from home. Let's put waste separation habits into your daily life. Visit their page and make small changes in your life today!
Let’s contribute in making better changes for a better food sustainability. If you have any other measures that we can all take part in, please share in our comment section!
