Most know this winter destination for its fluffy powder, but this dormant volcano in Central Oregon is also a summer playground with zip lines, mountain bike trails down the mountain, and for the past 3 years, an annual IN A LANDSCAPE concert above Pine Marten Lodge. Guests take the chairlift halfway up the mountain, then hike another half a mile to the concert site, at 8,000’ elevation, where the piano is perched in a little cove of lava rock and snow. After the music, a fine dinner of salmon fillet and summer vegetable ratatouille is served as the sunset illuminates the Three Sisters and Broken Top Mountains in the distance.
